FSC Chain of Custody

(Forest Stewardship Council)

When a printer holds the FSC Chain of Custody and the paper used in a project is FSC certified the end product can be labelled as FSC certified. This certificate is about the fibre tracking process and ensures that there is no contamination between FSC and non-FSC material.

There are several different FSC papers that fall under the following categories:

  • FSC 100% – Products come from forests certified as meeting the environmental and social standards of the FSC.
  • FSC Recycled – Post-consumer reclaimed materials includes wood and or wood fibre that has been reclaimed from a product after that product has been used for its intended purpose by individuals or business.
  • FSC Mixed Sources – Products with a Mixed Source label support the development of responsible forest management worldwide. The wood comes from FSC certified well managed forests, company controlled sources and or post consumer reclaimed materials.
  • APG can advise on FSC papers and continue this chain of custody through to the end user.
